Alexander's Square The world time clock on the Alexander's square was during the German Democratic Republic a popular meeting place.

Checkpoint Charlie was the best known border crossing in Berlin apart from the Glienicker Bridge.

Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church The best known landmark of Kurfürstendamm is the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial church on the square Breitscheid. In the Second World War it was strongly damaged by a bomb attack in 1943.
